Belated Honeymoon

Yes, I got married last year. Yes, I'm planning a wedding/vow renewal/1 year anniversary party this year. Yes, I'm taking my honeymoon before my wedding. I wouldn't be me if I didn't do things totally backwards.

Today, my husband booked our flights to San Juan, Puerto Rico for our 10 day vacation. We will have 2 and a half days to roam the island. Maybe we will go to the El Yunque Rainforest one day and be beach bums the next day. But there will be plenty of time for lounging on the beach cause on our 3rd day in PR we are leaving for a 7 night Cruise through the Caribbean. Ports of call include: St. Thomas, Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Kitts & St. Maarten

Let the countdown begin !

2 months & 18 days till fun in the sun

Green Bride

What a GREAT website ! One of a bride’s most challenging tasks is choosing bridesmaids dresses. Each bridesmaid have different tastes, body shapes and budgets. So how will you find a look that suits everyone? Recycledbride.com perfectly coordinates a bridal party without buying a bunch of expensive, identical dresses.

I even posted my bridesmaid dress from last year !

Shabby Chic

Made one tiny itsy change to my color palette. Yellow is out, peach is in. It was getting all to nautical for me. Peach really gives it that vintage look I'm already going for. Nothing Ive already done affects this change. I want the pops of peach in the flowers (instead of sunflowers), boutonnieres & decor.

Color palette now is: navy blue, peach, ivory, brown

THE dress

I have been eyeballing a dress I stumbled upon on Etsy back in October. Apparently, the designers name is Carol Hannah and was a finalist on Project Runway (Season 6). After exchanging emails with Carol (At this point I had no idea who she was!) about the dress, she told me to wait on buying the dress online because she was going to have her collection at the store, Bella Bridesmaid. I found a Bella store near our house. I started to look through the stores collections, but I didn't see my dress. I then emailed the store to schedule an appointment. After several emails with a girl about what style I wanted and what designers I liked I mentioned the Etsy dress. Thats how I found out Carol Hannah was the designer! Then she told me they didn't have her dresses in but that there was a good chance they will by September. When I told her about my conversation with Carol back in October she said she'd call Carol and try to get her in the store the day of my appointment and throw a trunk show that weekend. Now that's pretty awesome ! I'm super excited and ready for April to get here !!
